In the evening the guide will tell stories and legends from the Amazon, the guides will be able to talk with the children to give feedback on what they saw and learned during this beautiful trip.

Day 1: Arrival to Francisco de Orellana – Coca – Sani Lodge

Su jornada empieza con el primer vuelo en la mañana con una duración de 40 minutos desde Quito a Coca donde el personal de Sani los recogerá y llevará a las orillas del Río Napo.

Su guía bilingüe les explicará acerca de la seguridad que se debe tener antes, durante y después de embarcarse en una lancha a motor, cuyo viaje tendrá una duración de 2 horas y media por el Rio Napo, el mayor afluente del Amazonas en territorio de la Amazonia Ecuatoriana. Durante esta travesía podrás tomar contacto con las comunidades ancestrales que habitan a las orillas del Rio Napo. Una vez llegado al puerto principal de Sani Lodge, se continuará con una caminata de 15 minutos por un andén de madera y posteriormente una navegación en canoa a remo a través de la hermosa Laguna de Challwuacocha. El administrador de Sani Lodge les dará la bienvenida a sus vacaciones en la selva.

Por la tarde, tendrán una corta caminata de inducción en los senderos cercanos o una navegación en canoa con muchas oportunidades de observar primates, aves de la Amazonía, caimanes negros y un encuentro cercano con la sorprendente selva representada por los árboles de ceibo, orquídeas y bromelias y sobre todo saldrán en búsqueda de aves. Regreso al lodge, donde nuestro chef ofrecerá un amplio menú de cocina nacional e internacional que cubrirá las expectativas incluso de vegetarianos y veganos. Posterior charla acerca de la Amazonía que será impartido por uno de nuestros guías naturalistas bilingües, mientras disfrutas de bebidas y cocteles preparados por nuestro bartender.

Your journey starts with a 40-minute flight from Quito to Coca where the staff will pick you up and transfer to the banks of Napo River. There, your bilingual guide will explain about safety before embarking for a 2 ½ boat trip on the largest Ecuadorian affluent of the Amazon, the Napo River. During the journey you get a taste of the Amazon ancestral communities who live in the Napo river.  The canoe ride is followed by a 15-minute walk through a wooden platform and 20-minute paddle canoe across the beautiful Challwuacocha Lake. The staff will welcome you with refreshing cold drinks before you start your adventure in the Amazon Rainforest.

You will receive a birdwatching guide.

Late afternoon, you will have a short walk on the nearby trails or a canoe ride with many chances to observe primates, Amazonian birds, black caimans and a close encounter with the amazing flora represented by cedar trees, orchids, and bromeliads but above all you will leave to look for birds. Return to the lodge, where our chef will be happy to offer a wide variety of national and international cuisine that caters vegetarians and vegans.

Then you will have a briefing with the guide about the Amazon Rainforest while you enjoy drinks and cocktails made for our barman.

Day 1: Arrival to Francisco de Orellana – Coca – Sani Lodge

Your journey begins with the first flight in the morning with a duration of 40 minutes from Quito to Coca where the Sani personnel will pick up you and take you to the port of the Napo River.

Your bilingual guide will explain to you about the security that must be had before, during and after embarking on a motorboat, whose trip will last 2 and a half hours through the Napo River, the largest tributary of the Amazon in the territory of the Ecuadorian Amazon. During this journey you can get in touch with the ancestral communities that live close of the Napo River.

Once arrived at the main port of Sani Lodge, we will continue with a 15 minute walk along a wooden platform and then a canoe navigation through the beautiful Laguna de Challwacocha. The administrator of Sani Lodge will welcome you to your jungle holidays and will accommodate you in a quadruple room for 2 adults and 2 children

In the afternoon, you will have a short hike in the nearby trails or a canoe navigation with many opportunities to observe primates, birds of the Amazon, black caimans and with the amazing flora represented by the ceibo trees, orchids and bromeliads Return to the lodge, where our chef will offer an extensive menu of national and international cuisine that children will love.

Late you will have a talk with your bilingual naturalist guides about the Amazon while enjoying non-alcoholic drinks for children and cocktails prepared by our bartender

Day 2: Visit Yasuní butterflyGarden – Sani warmi

After breakfast, you will go to the Napo River to take the canoe to the Mariposario (Yasuni butterfly Garden) Community Center of Sani Isla. Here you will know how the community lives in harmony with the Amazon Rainforest. Everyone will know a new culture, with different customs and traditions, they will learn how local life is environmentally sustainable. They will know their conservation and entrepreneurship projects. Along with an activity of making handicrafts.

Lunch will be in the community and you can taste the traditional food of the area, then prepare to compete with the practice of the blowgun, an ancient Kichwa tradition of hunting. In the afternoon they will make handmade chocolate together with the women of the community.

Enjoy your return in the afternoon to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Bird watching from the largest tree in the Amazon – sport fishing

After breakfast, experience life in the upper canopy of the forest where the all family will have to climb our 36 meter (118 ft) tower. To get to the place, the guides will row in the Challwacocha Lagoon for approximately 30 minutes, followed by a short 15-minute walk. More than 565 species of birds have been recorded in the area, including parrots, toucans, meileros, tanagers, fly catchers, hummingbirds and, with a bit of luck, howler monkeys, squirrels, or sloths resting in the treetops. The tower offers a different perspective, opening a window to a different world of Amazonian diversity that is difficult not to say impossible to see from the forest floor.

Return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch there are many alternatives for your enjoyment, like bird watching from the bar or just relaxing in the hammocks. In the afternoon they will organize a sport fishing with the children.

After dinner, explore the lagoon in search of the rare Black Caiman in danger of extinction that can reach up to 6 meters long. Children will be surprised to see these awesome reptiles.

Day 4: Return to the Napo River – Coca

After breakfast you will go to the Napo River to take the motor canoe and visit the parrot wall of the Yasuní National Park. Where thousands of parrots look for a place in the wall of the salting pit to eat clay in a process of detoxification. Among the species that can be found, we count the Amazonian parrots, cabeciamarilla, cabeciazul and coroniamarilla. We will continue the trip to Coca to arrive in time to take a return flight to Quito

Day 2: At 4:00 am you will enjoy the Guayusa Ceremony

At 4:00 am you will enjoy the Guayusa Ceremony (a typical drink of this area), where your guide will tell you stories and legends of the Amazon, while you enjoy a wonderful sunrise.

After breakfast you will go to Napo River to take the canoe to Sani Isla Community Center. Here you can learn how the community lives in harmony with the Amazon Rainforest. You will learn about their customs, drinks, food, and Kichwa culture, learn how local life is environmentally sustainable. You will know their conservation and entrepreneurship projects (SANI WARMI) along with an activity of handicrafts.

Lunch will be in the community and you will taste the traditional food of the area, then get ready to play with the blowgun, an ancient Kichwa tradition of hunting. In the afternoon there will make artisan chocolate with the women of the community.

In the afternoon you’ll go back to the lodge to have a delicious dinner.

Day 3: Experience the life on the tree tops from the 36 meter

After breakfast, experience the life on the tree tops from the 36 meter (118 ft.) observation tower. To get there your leaders will paddle on the Challuacocha Lake for 30 minutes followed by a short 10-minute walk. Over 565 species of birds have been registered so far, including colorful birds such as macaws, toucans, honeycreepers, tanagers, flycatchers, hummingbirds and with a bit of luck a close view of howler, squirrel monkeys or sloths resting on the canopy. The tower gives you a unique perspective, opening up a whole new world of Amazon biodiversity that is often difficult and almost impossible to see from the understory.

Return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch there are many alternatives for your enjoyment, bird watching from the bar, or simply relax in the hammocks. In the afternoon you can visit a local house of a Kichwa family where you can share their traditions.

After a light dinner Ayahuasca ceremony will take place, this is an ancestral ritual led by the community Chaman (Yachak), which is carried out for spiritual purification.

Day 4: Visit the parrots wall at Yasuní National Park

After breakfast head back to the Napo River to board the boat and visit the parrots wall at Yasuní National Park for a wonderful view of hundreds of parrots searching for a gap to land and eat the earth in a process for their digestion. Here you will see Mealy Amazon, Yellow-crowned, Orange-winged and Blue-headed parrots. Then return to Coca on time to get your flight back to Quito.

The journey continues exploring the nearby trails searching for more Amazonian creatures.

Return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch there are many alternatives for your enjoyment, bird watching from the bar, in front of the lagoon or simply relax in the hammocks. In the afternoon you will walk through Chorongo or Coto trail with the goal to find more species of birds.

After dinner, explore the lagoon looking for the rare Black Caiman that can reach up to 6 meters of large and also is in danger of extinction, then you’ll go back to the lodge.

Day 3: Departure to the Napo Rive

After breakfast departure to the Napo River to board the boat and visit the parrot-clay lick at Yasuní National Park for a wonderful view of hundreds of parrots searching for a gap to land and eat the earth in a process for their digestion. Here you will see Mealy Amazon, Yellow-crowned, Orange-winged and Blue-headed parrots. Continue with a hike on the south of the Napo inside Yasuní National Park considered for scientists like the most biodiverse area in the world, here, some species that cannot be found in the north might be spotted: golden–mantled tamarins and spider monkeys, blue and yellow macaws and with a bit of luck a close encounter with white-lipped or collared peccaries. Head back to Sani Community Center to visit a native house to get a taste of how a typical Kichwa family lives. Enjoy their food, drinks, customs, and culture of Sani Isla community and learn how the lifestyle of the locals is environmentally sustainable.

Visit the islands of Napo River to find the species that habit these ecosystems. It is very important that you bring your binoculars to see them.

In the return there will be a feedback of birds seen along with the checklist.

After breakfast head back to the Napo River to board the boat and visit the parrots wall at Yasuní National Park for a wonderful view of hundreds of parrots searching for a gap to land and eat the earth in a process for their digestion. Here you will see Mealy Amazon, Yellow-crowned, Orange-winged and Blue-headed parrots. Then return to Coca on time to get your flight back to Quito.
