Protecting the amazon environment

Sani Isla encompasses our pristine rainforest and is home to a wealth of biodiversity unparalleled on Earth. The Yasuní region has been identified by scientists as the most biodiverse place on the planet, with the highest number of species per unit area.
We built Sani Lodge to create a source of income that would continue to support and strengthen our Kichwa community, rather than see the beauty of our local environment destroyed by oil drilling.

The continued success of Sani Lodge allows us to thrive within our community and be stewards of the earth, protecting our ancestral lands from any encroachment on our natural rainforest.
We strongly believe that sustainable tourism is achievable while limiting the negative impacts on both our community and the lodge itself. In order to achieve this goal, we have created several conservation programmes that benefit us and the surrounding communities, and these conservation policies are not limited to the lodge, but are practised throughout the community. We are constantly striving to improve ourselves so that we can live sustainably and be one with the forest.
Sani Lodge and Sani Warmi are emblematic projects in the South American Amazon and a global reference for tropical forest conservation. Together we have managed to combine sustainability, community work and tourism in a responsible way.
