Renovation of the health center

In the Napo region, which comprises the communities of Pilche, Sani Isla, San Roque and Tereré, there are two health centres: Añangu and Pañacocha. These centers have permanent medical and nursing staff and can only be accessed by river.

Añangu provides on-site outpatient care, including free basic services in general medicine, dentistry, obstetrics, and nursing, while Pañacocha has the added benefit of providing mobile care. Both focus on primary and preventive care for local communities.

Sani Isla has the largest population in the area, with approximately 800 members. Despite this fact, it has not been possible to have a well-equipped health center with permanent personnel. Proceeds from Sani Lodge are allocated to health programmers. On this occasion, we decided to invest in the refurbishment of the health center located in the community center.

This initiative enables healthcare professionals from the Pañacocha center to travel on weekends to provide medical care to members of our community and neighboring communities who are unable to travel to distant health centers.

We would like to express our gratitude for your invaluable contributions to the well-being of our communities and to the pursuit of a more equitable society, characterized by enhanced distribution of resources.

Thank you all.
